Being safe and well is a true blessing. We all need to stay safe and well amid the coronavirus outbreak.) For our safety and well-being, we must practice self-discipline strictly and take good care of ourselves by wearing a face mask and washing our hands often. These two practices are known by all.
Apart from following these two practices, we should also make sure that every time we wear a face mask, our mouth and nose are covered completely. We must wear our face mask properly so our mouth and nose won't be exposed. Also, when we wash our hands, we should remind ourselves to save water.
Adults and children alike all know how to wash their hands thoroughly. Yet, many people are not aware that they must also save water. So, we must share with more people how they can wash their hands clean with only a small amount of water.
We must all cherish water resources. When we wash our hands, we shouldn't use too much water. Even with a small amount of water, we can still wash our hands thoroughly. In all, though we must wash our hands often, we shouldn't use water wastefully. To save water, we must share an understanding and take collective action.
We must know that the clear water on Earth is gradually depleting and drying up. The land is generous. Ever since the beginning of mankind, we humans have been relying on the land to survive. Be it grains or water, our foods come from the land. Trees, grass, and other plants nourish the lives of all living beings.
The beautiful natural environment truly provides people with an abundance of great resources which wouldn't be possible without the land. So, we must be grateful to the land for the abundant resources. Yet, instead of being grateful, we humans have been damaging the land. With endless land excavation, we've been exploiting energy, water, and other resources. We cannot survive without water, but water resources are depleting.
See how many people suffer from water shortage. There is a great difference between their lives and ours. While they suffer from lack of water, we are blessed with easy access to water. We have reservoirs to store water and pipes to carry water to our residences. So, we can access water at home by simply turning on the tap. See how blessed we are. Yet, we often do not count our blessings and continue to exploit natural resources, leading to great waste and loss of many resources.
When we can count our blessings, we will find that our lives are good enough. Yet, nowadays, many people are not satisfied with their lives, and driven by insatiable greed, they continue to damage Mother Earth. As a result, ever more serious crises have been occurring. We humans have not awakened yet.
The current coronavirus crisis affects everyone, whether rich or poor and whether we live in a well-off country or not. As the virus is invisible and gives no hint of its presence, it has been spreading rapidly and unstoppably. Indeed, we should have proper fear of it. Yet, having fear alone doesn't help. Every day, I say that we need to have proper fear, but it doesn't help if we simply feel afraid. We must humble ourselves and respect Mother Earth.
The pandemic truly brings lessons for all human beings to awaken to. This pandemic is a major calamity that has already befallen us. At a time like this, we humans must awaken. We must quickly repent to the heavens and harbor gratitude to Mother Nature.
