The COVID situation is very severe here. The highest record of new COVID cases was 1,000 within a day at the Tuanku Ja’sfar Hospital in Negeri Sembilan. So, a lot of medical supplies are needed. We’re grateful to the branch in Malacca for purchasing a large quantity, close to ten thousand counts of PPEs. We hope these PPEs can help the frontline medical workers do their jobs at ease.
With this pandemic, I keep saying that it cannot be seen nor touched. It is something in the air, and air is truly hard to stop. The only thing to stop it is the love in our hearts. Love also cannot be seen nor touched, but love is an atmosphere, which is also the air. So, we can contrast the flow of love against the flow of the virus. The flow of love is good and the flow of the virus is evil.
In reality, evil can never prevail over good. Truly, we need the good flow of love in the atmosphere. With the pandemic, I’ve been mentioning about the collective negative karma of living beings, which is carried by the flow of the virus. Humans have bad karma, very powerful bad karma, so this pandemic keeps on spreading wider and wider.
At this time, the only way is for people to nurture a strong love to care for others, and this flow of love will be able to combat the flow of viral illness in today’s society. Only when the good has been nurtured and grown can it triumph over the evil of the virus.
This is an analogy, and it should make sense. Right now, let us calm our hearts. Once our hearts can minds are settled, we can get ready to face this problem. What we need to do is to convince everyone to awaken their love and protect the lives of animals. This is the teaching that I’ve been mentioning lately; it is not hard to understand, but not everyone will do it.
It is simple, which is to promote vegetarianism. Adopting a vegetarian diet is the best solution for safeguarding ourselves. If everyone of us can eat vegetarian meals, the virus can be fenced off and will not come near us because we have an atmosphere of love around us. Being vegetarian helps us develop this atmosphere.
Mother Nature gives all living beings, including humans, the ability to be healthy with their own immune system. So, this is the reason that everyone has to become vegetarian themselves and promote vegetarianism more.

It’s good for my body.
I’ve kept talking about the grand lesson. However, it is hard to put it in words. There are no words that I can use to talk about it fully and precisely. But, there’s something conspicuous about the air, which is full of infectious virus. This pandemic is evil.
If we have goodness in our hearts, evil cannot harm us. When our mind and body are surrounded by goodness, naturally, the virus will not be able to enter our body. Therefore, eating a vegetarian diet brings the flow of goodness to us. People who adopt vegetarianism are kind and caring, because they cannot bear to harm or take lives of living beings. Such is an inclusive love for all beings.
This inclusive love and thought can form a layer of protection. The virus cannot break through it. it is like a sheet of transparent plastic shield; though it is very soft, it can help protect us so the virus won’t get through this thin shield. The same principle applies, so it is truly important to keep our hearts and minds upright.
Tzu Chi volunteers, since this direction is a correct one, you must do your best to recruit more volunteers to head toward the same direction. When recruiting, what matters is not how much people donate, but their hearts. When inspiring people to give with love, we do not ask how much they give. All we want is to inspire their love.
When a coin is put into the collection box and makes a crisp sound, it forms a flow of goodness. The crisp sound of a coin keeps evil away. When there are many coins, the clinking sounds are the purest because they represent goodness. We must believe that we can inspire a lot of people’s pure love.
We must accumulate it bit by bit. We must not get discouraged, but to keep on accumulating it. Even if it’s only one person we’ve inspired, we are filled with gratitude. By solidly pooling together people’s gratitude, we are creating an atmosphere of goodness.
All in all, no matter how we approach this matter, we need people to have the right mindset, right view and right thinking. Being upright is very important. We pool together people’s love bit by bit. It’s not the case that one person donates a lot of money. We need everyone willingly to give of their love.
For this pandemic, wanting to help requires strength. We need everyone to aspire to help in order to gather enough strength. Right now, we need to keep on urging people to give of their love. We do not ask each person to give a lot, but we want a lot of people to give. This willingness to help is what constitutes as true strength.
Wealthy people might not want to share their wealth. We need many people to give of their strength. Everyone in society has this responsibility. I’m also urging people to pray more sincerely for this pandemic to end early and quickly.
However, without people’s love, this atmosphere of goodness will not be created. Everyone, we must rectify our incorrect thoughts and head in the right direction. We need to pool together people’s power of love and their flow of goodness in order to drive evil away.
